School lunches are cooked on the premises and children are given a choice of main dishes, including a vegetarian and salad option. There is a variety of puddings, including fresh fruit. The children also receive a drink.
Payment is taken for school meals on Monday of each week. If a child is absent, a late payment maybe sent on a Friday. Over the years, parents have requested to pay on a termly or half-termly basis. This is quite acceptable.
St. Anne’s is also part of the National School Fruit Scheme whereby all children in the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 are entitled to a free piece of fruit every day. To continue the good practice at Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 children are only allowed to consume fruit at play time. Children are encouraged to bring fresh water each day. The school also has water fountains available.
